going somewhere?

Or maybe nowhere at all.  That is, geographically speaking.

(Style) blogging in the winter can seem so contrived, but all with good reason.  When the cold becomes ubiquitous post-October, and Fall weather is abandoned without notice, all we are left to do is adapt.  It seems that the survival of the 'daily outfit post' lies in convenient locations where sizable overcoats can be skillfully tossed to the ground aside, and photo "sessions" that last no longer than five minutes; or better yet, indoor shooting where good lighting is a toss-up depending on how large your windows are and what floor you live on.  The options are endless in the world of fashion blogging as we are masters of making any location, indoor or out, a place to shoot an outfit.  You see, I was going nowhere at the time of this photo.  Huddled in my downtown apartment with a closet filled with clothes and nowhere to go at the time except up, up to the rooftop where wintry didn't seem so bad, at least for the first 10 minutes.  It's always that initial chill that strikes my west coast roots with terror, but I willingly tossed aside my outerwear to reveal the layers underneath anyway.

This is the look I seemingly gravitate toward especially when trying to make sure that color doesn't escape my life forever -- an injection of an anonymous print, followed by a thick sweater layered under leather, then of course (not pictured) my oversized Yigal Azrouel jacket that swallows me up, and makes any of my weather inappropriate ensembles seemingly ... appropriate.   photos taken by Danielle
