There's a shortage of striped pieces beyond the mundane horizontal tees out there.  I've been searching for a pair of vertical striped trousers for longer than I can remember, so when I came across these during an unexpected run-in of the American Apparel factory outlet last week, I couldn't help but try them on in a conspicuous corner we designated as our dressing room.  I understand the various connotations vertical stripes have, but they're actually really fun to play around with.  Also, they can be easily toned down with neutral jumpers and seem far less clown-like with a pair of pointed pumps.

So is it possible for the horizontal and vertical co-exist?
