THE GOH TO

summer blues

Over the past year I've worn a handful of overalls, but this one is probably the most relevant to my current personal style.  Since most of the past purchases have consisted of a variation of denim that aren't exactly breathable for the fast-approaching summer season, I tend to impulsively jump at a pair that have not only the right fabric but also an injection of color and pattern that suit my in-between skin tone. As a Southern California native, I used to hold a tan all year long, so I haven't exactly embraced that pale winter skin -- even after seven years of living in this city.  Since my skin doesn't necessarily hold a tan like it once did, I tend to rely on a lot more on color during the summer to offset whatever tone I'm trying to pull from my skin.  I returned from Puerto Rico earlier this week with a sun rash on my chest (*cries*) so pairing these overalls with this sleeveless turtleneck was necessary for concealing purposes, otherwise I would've gone crop tank for the humid day that we shot these photos.  I really just can't wait till the height of summer when to show off a tan and my wardrobe is splashed with delicate and lightweight pieces!
